CMA Contents Inventory Workbook

A free tool for policyholders after a fire or other loss

  • This workbook helps you organize and plan your contents list. It is not an appraisal, and the prices shown are rough, editable starting points, not quotes.
  • Using it does not guarantee any claim result. Your insurer applies your policy terms, limits and its own pricing.
  • Check every line against receipts, bank or card statements, order history and photos or video before you submit anything.
  • Your data stays with you. Everything runs in this browser. Nothing is sent to or stored on a server, and no tracking is used.
  • Your progress autosaves to this device, but clearing your browser wipes it. Download your CSV often and keep a copy somewhere safe.
  • This is general information, not legal advice. Questions about your rights or policy language belong with a licensed professional.

Prices are editable estimates of what a new, comparable item typically costs in the US. Change any price to match what you actually had. Open “Details & proof” to add brand, age, condition and smoke/soot status.

Add a custom item to Kitchen

Commonly forgotten after a fire

Smoke and soot reach places people rarely think to list: pantries, drawers, closets and storage bins. Tap anything you had to add it (quantity 1) to the right room, then adjust it there.

Clean or replace? Mark each item in “Details & proof.” Porous or consumable things like food, cosmetics, medicine, mattresses and pillows usually can’t be safely cleaned after smoke exposure. Hard goods sometimes can. Don’t throw anything away until your insurer or adjuster has documented it.

Overwhelmed? Let CMA document your contents claim for you

Rebuilding a whole home’s contents from memory can feel like a second job. Claim Management Adjusters are licensed public adjusters who work for policyholders, not insurance companies.

  • We build a detailed, priced contents inventory for you
  • We push back on low pricing and excessive depreciation
  • No recovery, no fee
