Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri
Lake of the Ozarks Insurance Appraisal Services
When you and your insurer agree a loss is covered but disagree on the amount, many policies let either side demand appraisal. Claim Management Adjusters (CMA) has served, and still serves, as an appraiser in that process. In Missouri we offer appraisal services only. We do not act as a public adjuster or negotiate claims for policyholders in Missouri.

How the appraisal process works
- Each side names its own appraiser, as the policy’s appraisal clause requires.
- The two appraisers each inspect the property and write up the amount of loss.
- If they cannot agree, an umpire decides, and an award signed by two of the three sets the amount of loss.
- Appraisal decides the amount of loss, not whether the loss is covered.
Lake homes, boathouses and docks at Lake of the Ozarks face spring and summer storms with high wind, hail and fallen trees, and disagreements over the amount of loss are common. Appraisal is one way to resolve them without a lawsuit.
What we do as your appraiser
- Inspect the property and document the damage.
- Write a line-by-line estimate of the amount of loss.
- Meet with the other appraiser and work toward an agreed figure.
- Present our numbers to the umpire if needed.
How appraisal is paid
Each side pays its own appraiser under a written agreement signed before work starts, and the umpire’s cost is usually shared under the policy.
