September 2018 hurricane damage
We wrote our own estimate, then revised it to add the mitigation work as a bid item and to remove overlap with the contractor’s tear-out. When the contractor’s later estimate tried to rebuild far more than the storm damaged, we reviewed it line by line so the supplement we sent would hold up. We also added the electrical bid and repriced to current costs.
Result: The claim was paid at $46,908 in replacement cost, then a further $18,313 check came later: $65,221 in total.
