This is a summary from a CMA claim file. Names, addresses and claim details are left out to protect our client. Every claim is different, and past results do not guarantee a future outcome.

Church, Hurricane Florence (September 2018)

The storm damaged the church’s buildings, including roofs, stained glass and 21 rooms. Our estimate showed the insurer’s scope was short, including too few roof squares and only $1,800 for the stained glass. We negotiated directly with the adjuster and agreed on payment for the two main buildings. Later we pursued the education building separately.

Result: The church got $277,548 agreed for the main buildings, plus $51,647 in replacement cost later for the education building: about $329,195 in total. Two Wilmington homeowners we represented after the same storm received $42,644 and $40,993.
